CARPLAY
Wireless
Wireless CarPlay uses both the Bluetooth connection and a closed WiFi network to communicate with the phone. This allows both sufficient bandwidth for data exchange (WiFi) and sufficient control protocols to exchange commands with your phone (Bluetooth).
There are two main ways to connect your smartphone to a HUDWAY Drive: over BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and WiFi (mirroring mode). Here you will learn about them in more detail.
Since WiFi is occupied by CarPlay, it leaves you with using BLE connection and our proprietary app HUDWAY Drive. This way you will see navigation hints, speed and other widgets, notifications, calls on the lens and at the same time, you will be able to interact with CarPlay system.
Wired
The above mentioned way will also work for wired use of CarPlay, just connect to HUDWAY Drive via BLE and plug in your iPhone using the car’s USB port, then enjoy using CarPlay as you normally do.
ANDROID AUTO
Provided that you connect to HUDWAY Drive over BLE, you have all the rest of the connection types free to play with. This way, the HUDWAY Drive device takes the information from HUDWAY Drive app which is not integrated into Android Auto. You will be able to preset widgets in the HUDWAY Drive app the way you want the information to appear on the lens of the device, but not from the Android Auto.
