Using our HUDWAY Drive camera set, you can automate video feed to HUDWAY Drive.
That is, whenever you turn on your blinker or select the rear gear, you will see the video from a side view cam, or a backup cam.
In the sections below you will find out how it works and looks and how to set it all up.
What's in the box
HUDWAY Drive camera set comes equipped with:
1. Video selector
It's a small black box where you plug in the cables running from:
1 – Night vision camera2 – Left side camera
3 – Right side camera
4 – Rear camera
5 – Joystick
6/7 – Blinkers and backup lights
8 – Power and video input
2. Side view cameras
They are marked with LEFT and RIGHT labels for you to correctly affix them to the corresponding side of your car.
Coming out of each camera is a cable that you'll route to the video selector through extension cables and adaptors.

3&4. Backup camera and beeper
Coming out of the backup camera is a cable split into two ends. One of these runs to the beeper, the other — through the adaptor — to the video selector.
The beeper is a tiny alarm that warns you when you're coming too close to an obstacle. The cable coming out of it serves to connect to the back up camera.

5. Cables for side view cameras
You'll run them from the cams' cables, through the adaptors and to the video selector.
6. Metal bracket with screws
To mount the backup camera above your rear license plate.
7. Adaptors
These are short black cables with a white terminal on one end. You'll use them to connect the cameras to the video selector.
8. Bunch of 4 trigger cables
These are thin white, yellow, gray and brown cables coming from one white terminal.
You'll use them to connect the video selector to the blinkers and backup light.
Here's how the cables will run:
– White — to the right blinker
– Yellow — to the left blinker
– Gray — to the backup light

And you can use the brown one to connect an extra monitor or a DVR.
9. 6 red snap lock connectors
You'll need them to connect the cable tails (#8) to the vehicle lights.
10. Cable for night vision camera
This is a long black cable with a white terminal on one end (to plug in the selector port marked as "Front Camera"), and split into two tails with plugs on the other end:
– the red one provides the power supply to the night vision camera
– the yellow one feeds the night vision cam's video to the selector
– the red one provides the power supply to the night vision camera
– the yellow one feeds the night vision cam's video to the selector

a) a black and red wires with stripped ends coming out from one white terminal (use these to connect the video selector to a 12V power supply outlet)

12. Extension cable
You'll use it to connect HUDWAY Drive's RCA cable to the videoselector's cable (#11c).
13. Joystick
Whenever you want HUDWAY Drive to display a video from a particular camera, you can do it with this joystick.

Use it to neatly tuck the cables in between the door seals, gently lift the plastic panels, etc.
1. Install the side view cameras
Coming out of each side view camera is a flat flexible cable. It's thin enough not to interfere with opening the door.
That's why we suggest that you thread it inside through the panel gap between the front door and the fender.
1. Degrease the surface where you're going to mount the camera using some alcohol wipe.
2.Remove the protective sheet from the adhesive layer on the camera bottom and the cable.
3. Open the door and thread the cable into the gap.
4. Affix the camera to the fender.
That's why we suggest that you thread it inside through the panel gap between the front door and the fender.
1. Degrease the surface where you're going to mount the camera using some alcohol wipe.

5. Press the cable firmly to stick it to the metal surface.
You can use some clips to hold the cable in place.
Be sure to degrease the surface prior to sticking the cable and the clips.
6. Now thread the cable below the dash to the door threshold.
On the way, tuck it in the gaps where the plastic parts of the dash meet.

7. Repeat the steps 1—6 for the right camera.
2. Install the backup camera
We recommend that you mount the camera in the wind shadow — a place where less mud will splatter. The best place is where the licence plate is mounted.
The camera is wide-angled and doesn't need to be centered.
1. Open the boot lid.
2. Dismount the licence plate light and thread the rearview camera cables inside.
3. Select where you want to place the camera.
You can either stick it, or drill the lid in and use the enclosed bracket and screws to mount it.
4. Degrease the surface, remove the protective sheet and press firmly to affix it to the lid.
5. Move the camera wires in the cut-outs to the sides of the main hole and mount the light back in.

The cable coming out of the backup camera is split into two ends. One of them, ending with a square connector, plugs into the beeper. The other will run to the video selector.
1. Pull out the backup cam cables by either dismounting the plastic cover of the boot lid — or just removing the rear light cover. Gently pull out the wires.
2. Connect the camera to the beeper.

3. Degrease the interior lid surface where you will mount the beeper.
4. Remove the protective sheet off the beeper's adhesive and press it firmly to affix to the lid.
Be sure to leave out the camera cable. You'll later route it to the boot and connect to the video selector.

3. Mount the joystick
The video signal is automatically triggered to display on HUD.
Selecting reverse gear brings the video from the back-up camera — it displays the distance to the obstacle behind the vehicle and triggers the beeper when moving closer than 0.5 m. Switching on left and right blinkers triggers corresponding video signals.
To manually control which video should be shown on the HUD, use the joystick.
1. Stick the video selector in a place where it will be convenient for you to access it — for example, to the left of the steering wheel.
Be sure to degrease the surface prior to affixing the joystick.

2. Route the joystick under the steering wheel and further under the threshold panels through the passenger compartment towards the boot. Later, you'll thread it into the boot together with all other cables.

4. Connect to your car's lights
IMPORTANT: Make sure to check back your vehicle wiring diagram, or probe the wires with a tester to see which one is for reverse signal, and which is for turning light.
1. Access the rear lights cables by either dismounting the plastic cover of the boot lid — or just removing the rear light cover. Gently pull out the wires.

2. Connect the reverse, the right and the left turning signal cables to the bunch of trigger cables (#8) using the enclosed splice locks (#9).
Every cable in the set is labeled, so that you know to which cable in the vehicle it should be connected.
3. Route the set of trigger cables to the boot to later connect them to the video selector. You can fix it onto the boot hinges with cable ties or tape.

5. Route all the cables to the boot
1. Connect the extension cable with yellow plugs (#12) to the yellow end of the RCA cable plugged in HUDWAY Drive's video port — thread them under the plastic threshold plates towards the backseats.
2. Connect the extension cables with black plugs (#5) to the side view cameras' cables — and thread them under the plastic threshold plates towards the backseats.
Depending on your car model, you may need to fold the backseats to thread the wires into the boot — or you may tuck it in between the seat and the side bolster.

4. Route the backup camera cable to the boot and fix it onto the boot hinges with cable ties or tape.
6. Connect everything to the video selector
We recommend that you keep the selector in a dry place — for example, mount it onto the interior side of the boot, or under the driver's seat. You can do it using a 3M double sided tape, or a Dual Lock fastener.
At this stage, you can just place the video selector where you're going to have it — and affix it later, when you've plugged all the cables in it.

1. Connect the white ends of the adaptor cables (#7) to the video selector. Then connect the side cameras extension cables and the backup camera cable to the other ends of the adaptor cables.
2. Connect the white terminal of the set of cables (#11) to the video selector.

4. (OPTIONAL) If you have a night vision camera, connect its cable to the Front Camera port on the selector:
5. Plug the extension cable connected to the HUDWAY Drive's RCA cable to the yellow end of the cables' set (#11c).
6. Connect the joystick cable to the black end of the cables' set (#11b).
7. Connect the stripped ends of the red and black cables (#11A) to any 12V power supply that is the most convenient for you. This way, the video selector will power on when you start the vehicle.
